CARDIFF, UK-New Zealand take on Sri Lanka in their first game of the ICC
Champions Trophy. New Zealand have the advantage of having been in the
UK for the last few months after their recent series against England.
The New Zealanders have a good, up and coming squad but the issue for
New Zealand fans seems to be the regular batting collapses that occuring
when New Zealand play on the international scene. The likes of Ross
Taylor are excellent batsmen but for some reason when wickets begin to
tumble, they have no one who can stem the flow. Sri Lanka meanwhile have
a bowling attack that love to take quick wickets and this is
spearheaded by the mighty Lasith Malinga. "The Slinga" will be backed up
by the likes of Sangakkara in the batting department. It will be a
feisty test for two of the weaker sides in this tournament.
